Pastor Bruce committed his life to the Lord in 1986 after being miraculously delivered from drugs and alcohol. Bruce received his licensing and ordination credentials from Jacksonville Theological Seminary in May of 1992, and graduated from Luther Rice Seminary with a B.A. in Biblical Studies in January 1993. In October 1993, Bruce and his wife Marlene began Church on The Rock in Flagler County. In 1998, Marlene was ordained through Church on The Rock to assist her husband Bruce in the work of the ministry. Together they have ministered to the local body as well as to the county through the Jail Chaplaincy and numerous outreach ministries.
In 2013, Bruce and Marlene were ordained by NEI (Network Ekklesia International) under Dutch Sheets and Ken Malone. As Jewish believers in Jesus, Bruce and Marlene’s greatest passion is to teach and inform the body of Christ of their Jewish roots and the significance of the Feasts of The Lord. After transitioning out of the role of Senior Pastors, they have been commissioned to carry out this calling through God’s Original Plan Ministries. Roman’s 11:13-14
Pastor Bill was born in Brooklyn, New York. At the tender age of 16, Bill Knight was drawn into the dark world of illegal drug distribution. At the age of 20 he was facing 25 years to life for illegal drugs and weapons. While in solitary confinement, Bill Knight received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1985! GOD by His grace and mercy allowed him to be sentenced by Brooklyn’s Supreme Court for just
3 years in a N.Y. state prison.
Pastor Bill is married to Angella and has 6 children and 3 grandchildren. He has preached the gospel of Jesus Christ in prisons, street corners, shelters, and subway systems. He has taught and trained many believers on effective evangelism and continues to be a witness of the gospel of Christ wherever he goes.
James and Debbie met at the University of Arkansas and were married in 1991 before relocating to New Jersey for business opportunities and to start a family. James spent the next 20 years working in the transportation industry, managing and leading companies at the executive board level. Debbie used her degree as a stay at home mother with a focus on homeschooling their four children. In 1998, medical and personal crises reignited their personal relationship with Jesus Christ and they became active members in a local church. James served on the Elder Board and Debbie played an active role in the prayer ministry. By 2011, the Lord brought the family to Palm Coast, FL and to Church on The Rock. James was called to the Elder Board at COTR in 2013, and Debbie continued her focus on homeschooling and prayer. On January 1, 2017, James and Debbie were ordained as Senior Pastors of Church on The Rock and are continuing on with the COTR vision of transforming Flagler County and building upon the foundation established by the founding pastors.
Church on The Rock is made up of all different types of people from all different walks of life that share a common faith and love for Christ. Our faith in Him brings us together as the Body of Christ. We worship together, share life together, minister together, and grow together.
Established in 1993, Church on The Rock has been progressing toward the realization of “Our Vision” as a church body and the transformation of Flagler County and beyond.
Since it is the grace of God that gives us both the will and the ability to do according to His good pleasure, all the glory belongs to Him. Therefore, I have nothing of which to boast save Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Yet, He has called, equipped, empowered, and sent me to stand and proclaim that He is the Christ, the Son of the Living God and that He is soon to return.
For over 30 years He has opened doors of ministry opportunities and led me into fields of service for which I feel most unworthy. Most recently I am blessed to participate in the teaching and outreach ministries of Church on the Rock. The Lord has joined our hearts to embrace the vision of seeing the transformation of Flagler County. To that end we are co-laborers proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ to all who would hear and believe the Good News.
Robert Carra came to Church on The Rock when he relocated from the Bronx to assist his elderly parents. He knew from previous visits that this was the church he was being called to. He joined the worship team and became the worship leader in January of 2014.
Robert came to the Lord in 1997 while living in the Salvation Army undergoing drug rehabilitation. From there God moved him into an Assembly of God Church where he was baptized and became part of the worship team.
Robert has over 19 years of experience as a worshiper and has played guitar for over 50 years. With many years of experience in bands and under the leadership of trained worship leaders, he has developed a spirit of excellence when worshiping the Lord.
