Bruce and Marlene Laurent

                                                                                                                                                                                   

Pastors Bruce and Marlene Laurent are the founders of Church On The Rock.  They have served as Senior Pastors since the Church's inception on Oct. 3rd, 1993.  Since then, the Church has blossomed from its early beginnings in the dining room in the Senior Center with 15 people to the growing ministry it is today.  In Dec. of 2007 we finished construction of our new building on US1 in Bunnell. 

Senior Pastor: Pastor Bruce Laurent

Pastor Bruce committed his life to the Lord in 1986 after being miraculously delivered from drugs and alcohol.  Shortly after, Bruce began to volunteer at the Flagler County Jail, ministering to the inmates, while at the same time enrolling in Luther Rice Seminary.  Bruce was also heavily involved in volunteer ministry in his church, New Covenant Church of God in Daytona Beach, FL.   In January of 1991, Bruce was made Chaplain of the Flagler County Inmate Facility, a position that he holds to this day.  Bruce received his licensing and ordination credentials from Jacksonville Theological Seminary in May of 1992, and graduated from Luther Rice Seminary with a B.A. in Biblical Studies in 1993.  In January of 1993, he became Pastor of Evangelism with New Covenant Church in Daytona Beach. The Lord began to speak to Bruce about starting a work in Flagler County where he lived and with the blessing of New Covenant Church, Bruce and his wife Marlene began Church On The Rock in Flagler County.  Bruce has been very instrumental and effective both in the Church and out in the community.  He understands that Christ is the head of the Church and the Church extends well beyond the walls of our building.  In 2009 a long time prayer of his was answered when God gave him the honor of hosting "Pastors Prayer" which brings local Pastors together in prayer.  Pastor Bruce is a powerful preacher who has the loving heart of a Father. 

Co Pastor: Pastor Marlene Laurent

Pastor Marlene Laurent has an extensive background in business management,  She received her degree in Information Systems from Lewis A. Wilson Technological Center in Dix Hills, NY. in 1972.  Before going into full time ministry Marlene worked for 17 years with ITT Community Development Corp. where she worked as a Senior Systems Analyst from 1979 - 1996, when she left to assist her husband in the ministry of Church On The Rock. 

For the next year and a half, Marlene worked as a consultant for ITT while she attended Jacksonville Theological Seminary completing courses in Pastoral Counseling, Crisis counseling, and Human Growth and Development.  In 1998 Marlene was ordained through Church On The Rock to assist her husband Bruce in the work of the ministry.  Her love of people combined with her teaching and management skills have helped make the church a warm and loving place to worship.  Whether it be in counseling, teaching, working with the children, or in administration, Pastor Marlene is ready for the job.  Her commitment and devotion has made a huge impact in the church and in the lives of so many.
